The Adrian College NCAA hockey team came up with another pair of wins last weekend. The Bulldogs dominated the ice on both Friday and Saturday.
42 seconds into the match junior Eric Miller scored the first goal of the night. The Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead from the shot assisted by junior Mike Dahlinger.
Dahlinger would go on to have five assists on the night.
Junior Brad Houston netted Adrian’s third goal of the night, another score assisted by Dahlinger.
Junior Kyle Watson proved crucial for the Bulldogs Friday night as he finished the evening with two goals and one assist. On Watson’s second goal of the night with 3:30 off the clock Dahlinger provided another assist.
Other scorers for the Bulldogs during the first game of the series against Finlandia included freshman Zach Graham and juniors Joel Workman and Mike Towns. The Bulldogs were 1-7 on the night for power play goals.
Freshman Andrew Dovey was able to notch the last tick on the scoreboard for the Bulldogs with only 29 seconds left in the third quarter.
Saturday’s game belonged to junior Brad Fogal as he completely shut down Finlandia. Fogal would not let Finlandia score even once on the evening allowing the Bulldogs to grab a 4-0 shutout win. The shutout was the Fogal’s second of the season and the twelfth of his career.
The Bulldogs opened a 1-0 gap at the 7:00 minute mark in the second period as junior Shawn Skelly sent one sailing to the back of the net. Less that two minutes later junior Bobby Hineman scored Adrian’s second goal of the evening, giving the Dawgs a 2-0 lead.
That lead was extended when Towns, for the fifth time this season, set off the red eye.
Senior Kyle Frieday topped off the Bulldog scoring in the third period with only 1:08 left in the match.
The Bulldogs were able to outshoot Finlandia on the game 47-22 with a 22-5 advantage in the second period.
The Bulldogs will be back in action Friday in a weekend series against Lake Forest.
